Additional Activities
In addition to our monthly meetings we have extra activity groups. They are as follows - Stitch and Craft Group Our Stitch and Craft group meet on the first and third Wednesday of each month from 2.00pm to 4.00pm. We meet in the small room in Drinkstone Village Hall and each pay £1 towards the hire of the room. We also take it in turn to provide milk and cake/biscuits. (The tea and coffee are from WI) We have decided that we will produce items for charity, quite often local, while learning new skills or refreshing them. Look on our "photograph" page to see some of the things we have been making. Book Club We have a book club though not all participants are members. We meet on the fourth Thursday evening each month to discuss the chosen book and take it in turn to host the meeting. We also have a meal out near Christmas and during the summer. Members provide a list of books during the last meeting of the year, and we agree on twelve, of differing genres, for the following year. . |
Coffee mornings We try to meet once a month for coffee and cake using venues in the local area. We car share where we can to make it easier for members who cannot, or don't want to, drive. |
| Cinema trips We go to the Regal cinema, in Stowmarket when there is a film we would like to see. Again we car share where possible. Most of us usually meet for lunch in the Regal's new café before going in to see the film. |
| Thedwastre Group of WIs. There are seven WIs in the group and we have a meeting once a year with each WI taking a turn at organising the venue and speaker. They also provide refreshments. The rest of the WIs do the raffle, write a report for the Federation and thank the hosts. |
