SPECIAL EVENTS 2025

STOUR GROUP MEETING

This year the meeting of a number of local WIs will be held by Thurlow WI.

STURMER AND  DISTRICT WI BURSARY

From time to time we offer free or low cost lessons to members and extend this to others in the local area.  These bursaries have included tai chi, flower arranging, mosaics, digital photography, water colour painting, yoga and Italian cookery.

CENTENARY TROPHY COMPETITION AND COMPETITION SHIELD

This  year our special  one off competition - the Centenary Trophy-  is a cushion 12" x 12" to  be judged at the November  meeting -  trophy to be awarded  in January 2026.

We also award our Competition Shield in January of each year.  The member with the most points from our monthly meetings' competitions receives a gift voucher and her name is affixed to the shield.  Members in second and third place also receive a gift vouchers.

FUNDRAISING EVENTS 2025

All welcome -  We are planning bingo, a quiz and a musical evening to raise funds for our WI.

We also plan an Open Gardens day in the village this year with refreshments and we hope all our keen gardeners in Sturmer will take part.

OUTING  - This year we will be going to Royston Cave and in January having lunch at our village pub, The Red Lion

Our Secretary is also a Climate Ambassador  for Suffolk West Federation of WIs.
