SPECIAL EVENTS 2024

STOUR GROUP MEETING

This year the meeting of a number of local WIs will be held the West End Church in Haverhill with a magician to entertain us.  Sturmer and District WI is the host.  There will be light refreshements.

STURMER AND  DISTRICT WI BURSARY

A regular event providing  free or low cost  lessons to  Members.  2023 was Italian cookery workshops.  We cooked ravioli and tiramisu and enjoyed them for lunch.  The events were mostly grant funded by the District Councillor and the Parish Council.

CENTENARY TROPHY COMPETITION AND COMPETITION SHIELD

This  year our special  one off competition is a wreath in any medium (8" maximum) to  be judged at the November  meeting -  trophy to be awarded  in January 2024.

We also award our Competition Shield in January of each year.  The member with the most points from our monthly meetings' competitions receives a gift voucher and her name is affixed to the shield.  Members in second and third place also receive a gift vouchers.

FUNDRAISING EVENTS 2023

All welcome -  We are planning a beetle drive, bingo and Country and Western Live Music Night to raise funds for our WI.

OUTING  - This year we will be going to a local vineyard for a winetasting.

GOING  GREEN - We made green hearts last year for a display at the village hall as part of the WI Show the  Love (for the planet) Campaign.  Our Secretary is also a Climate Ambassador  for Suffolk West Federation of WIs.
