JANUARY  9th

SOCIAL EVENING.  

Once again, the wonderful Margo and Linus will be delivering a fun quiz to cheer us up in January.  A great social evening for all.

FEBRUARY     13thBURLESQUE
WI President Lindsey Barrell will be delivering a funny and heart-warming talk that covers how she discovered burlesque, and then the WI and brought the two worlds together.  A talk not to be missed.  
MARCH 13thHOW TO DELIVER CPR
Dan Gilkes, a survior of Cardiac Arrest, will be talking abut his experience and how this has now transitioned into voluntary work for the Air Ambulance and teaching CPR.  
APRIL 10th

I LOVE BEES
Geoff Beckitt from Hepworth who has kept bees for 8 years, will share his amusing stories and photos.  He will also bring along honey samples to taste.  Yum-Yum!

MAY 8thAGM/RESOLUTION  MEETING
Our only business meeting of the year to elect a new committee and president  and to vote on this year’s WI RESOLUTION
We will also add in a bit of fun!
JUNE12th

REFLEXOLOGY
Jeanette from Well Beans, is a Reflexology Practitioner, and will talk to us about this alternative medical practice involving pressure to specific points on feet ears and hands.  This is a treatment which has been around for many hundreds of years.

JULY 10thGARDEN PARTY SUPPER Format and venue to be decided.
AUGUST 14th

ANYONE FOR TENNIS?
Wendy Smith has recently retired after 40 years as a Chair Umpire and Line Judge at Wimbledon.  She will come and tell us her story which incudes officiating at the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

SEPTEMBER 11thRIDING FOR THE DISABLED
Jayne Bateman, who works at the stables in Barrow, will talk to us about her work with both adults and children with mental and physical disabilities to experience the joy of horses both riding and non-riding activities.  
OCTOBER 9thBURY IN BLOOM
Bury in Bloom was funded by the Bury Society in 1986, and Chris Whiley, the co-ordinator, will be coming to talk to us about all the work that is done to achieve the accolade for being one the country's foremost floral towns.  
NOVEMBER 13thBOMB DISPOSAL
Lucy Lewis was chosen to be the first Lady Bomb Disposal Officer in 1989, serving in Germany and Northern Ireland.  Her talk will take us to the very dangerous work she has done.  
DECEMBER 11thANNUAL CHRISTMAS DINNER
Format and after dinner entertaiment to be decided.
