St Pauls Cathedral - 22nd October 2013

After travelling by train and tube to St Pauls we spend about 2 hours looking around this beautiful building. Some of us went up to the Whispering Gallery which is 257 steps up. A few ventured even further up to the Golden Gallery which is a staggering 528 steps from the ground. For lunch we made our way to the Raymond Blanc restaurant which was only a short walk away. We did some window shopping before returning to the tube at around 3.30pm to make our way back home.

Wixoe Walk - 23rd June 2013

On a very pleasant Sunday morning we started our circular walk at Wixoe Church then out of the village and into the surrounding countryside. Whilst taking in the beautiful views we walked through rape fields and past a farm before reaching a small wooden bridge and then the main road. We then made way along the road back to our cars in Wixoe. The walk was about 2 miles and took us around 2 hours to complete. We concluded our outing with a well earned Sunday Lunch at the Birdbrook Tavern.

Cutty Sark, Greenwich - 27th March 2013

We travelled to Liverpool Street from Audley End Station then caught the underground to Greenwich. Although the weather was not very kind to us with heavy showers throughout the day we had a very pleasant time looking around this impressive tea clipper. For lunch we went to a nearby pub and we then split into groups to explore some more of the Greenwich area. Most of us walked up to the Observatory with its beautiful views across London.
