About Us

Welcome to Bury WI web pages.

We are a medium sized WI with approximately 30 members, consisting of a group of varying ages with a wealth of experience and diverse interests and all part of Suffolk West Federation.

Members meet on the first Thursday in each month at the Home Guard Club, Abbott Road, Bury St Edmunds IP33 3UB from 7.30pm to approximately 9.30pm. The meeting starts with a welcome to all members and the distribution of greetings cards for birthdays and anniversaries.  There follows a review of forthcoming events and activities open for all members to participate.  Talks are given by guest speakers and the subjects are far ranging.   The evening ends with a raffle and refreshments.

Outside the meetings groups of members regularly meet for a game of Ten Pin Bowling, walking, shopping trips, craft sessions, theatre trips etc.   

Bury WI has a forward thinking committee led by Helen Lindfield, President.   New members from the age of 18  onwards are all welcome.

There are many activities that are organised by the Suffolk West Federation in which members also take part.
