More About Us

Boxford WI is a friendly afternoon WI with 30+ members, we meet at 2pm on the 1st Wednesday of each month in Boxford Village Hall.

Boxford is a busy village set midway between Hadleigh and Sudbury and the WI attracts members from both towns as well as Boxford and surrounding villages. Boxford itself is a pretty village on the river Box, and boasts a Post Office, general stores, high quality butcher, along with a coffee shop and two pubs, and is well worth a visit.

A normal WI meeting will consist of a welcome by the president, followed by a guest speaker, then tea and biscuits (and chat!). Regular features of the monthly meetings include a book stall, raffle and themed sales table. The theme is different each month and can vary from 'Unwanted Christmas Gifts' (a January favourite) to 'Anything Red'.

As well as the normal monthly meetings, Boxford WI has a thriving lunch group, craft group, walking group, and book group. While we have an enthusiastic committee, our WI is very much 'member led' and all members have an input into the smooth running of the meetings and extra activities.

Visitors are always welcome to any of our meetings, whether you're thinking of joining or are just interested in a specific speaker.
