12th October - Singing for Wellbeing

Stephen Amer, from Voice Cloud, a charity that delivers music therapy and other projects in the Waveney area, visited us to talk about the health benefits of music.

Music can be enjoyed by everyone, whether you sing, play an instrument, or listen to it. Music brings people and communities together; it lets you express yourself; it makes you feel good.

It is also proven to be of benefit to those with, physical and psychological difficulties, people with dementia, also vulnerable, and excluded, children.

Stephen’s passion for music was abundant and he soon had the WI Ladies join him in an unexpected warm up session before launching into a sing-along.  “Que sera, sera”

We didn’t quite manage to raise the roof of the village hall, but we did sing rather well. I thought so anyway!
