11th January - Fish & chip supper
The WI Ladies kicked 2024 off with a fish and chip supper, which for some no doubt was a welcomed change from the endless turkey that had been consumed over Christmas. Hopefully no one’s new year’s resolution was to diet. If it was, they fell at the first hurdle!!
The plan after supper was to sit back and relax, as well as you could without a comfy armchair, and watch a film on the big screen. Alas, due to technical issues this was not to be.
So, with time on our hands, we improvised. NO, we didn’t play charades, although that might have been fun!! We chatted. It seems there was a lot to catch up on!
We also took the opportunity to discuss, and vote on, this years proposed Resolutions.
For our next meeting, on 8th February, a member of the Stour River Trust will be joining us to talk about Clean Rivers and the current plan to gain Designated Bathing Water status between the Granary Cut in Sudbury and the Great Cornard Lock.
